Lifeforce
BetterDays/Dose/Syrous - July 11 1998 A nice flyer. To me the formation of Lifeforce slowly signalled the death of the Toronto party scene. There seemed to be less company loyalty from the punters and the opening of Turbo basically killed the truly all ages event. I could go on for hours. Anyways, held at one of the halls at the International Centre this event was fairly well attended. I can't report much on the events in the house/breaks room but Maceo played a short solo hip hop set before De La came on and really got the crowd going and De La really just smashed it. As we know hip hop live is usually fairly poor but they were fantastic. Oddly enough Finn and Skibadee(GQ did not make it) were rather dry. Just a poorly put together set. A let down really. Was hoping for better things. Check the tape if you don't beleive me. This event set the stage for better large scale events later on in the year but most especially in 1999. I know for certian there is a Micky Finn tape but I don't know if there are any others. front: Attached image(s)
