I really hope to see some of you guys out at this one! we will be recording, so bring the noise!
________________________________________________________________________________ ______ In the year 1991, a small group of people from Toronto tapped into the then new "techno" sound and began putting together events in this City. What snowballed from there became one of the first and biggest scenes in North America. If you are interested in reading the history, THIS is a great place to start. The Communic8r has put together a chronological record of how it began, including rare images and long forgotten radio sets that clearly document the birth of "Rave" in our City. While some can argue with who, how and when the events took place, none can shutdown the impact that companies like Exodus and Sykosis, venues like 318 Richmond street, and figures like Malik X, Dr. No, Mark Oliver and Sean L (Collectively, The Booming System Collective) had in the rise of underground dance music, not to mention the countless other behind the scenes promoters, record shop owners, and of course, the supporting punters. On Friday April 30th, Join us as we bring together some of the original founding members of underground dance music in Toronto, including our very own Marcus Visionary, dipping into his very early roots which inspired his internationally-renown DJ and producing career, and the legendary Mark Oliver, original member of the Booming System Collective and Techno Pioneer, who to this day still draws thousands on a weekly basis. In true oldskool fashion, it is only right that the venue plays a vital role in this reunion. The Cameron House was one of the very first venues in this city to give that new sound "techno" a chance, almost 20 years ago, and we are sad to say that this night, Friday April 30th, will likely mark its last time. The Cameron House has been sold, and its future is uncertain at this point. Join us next Friday for: Reunited - What's on your mind? Techno for all mankind! Event Info: Click Here Facebook : Click Here For those who enjoy the late nights, and in keeping with the theme, we have arranged for the party to continue, at an underground venue into the late hours, with some very special guest DJ's. More information at the Reunited event, the night of. |

That was one of the most special nights Ive had in this city in the last 20 years.
Magical night of music, smiles and memories. We do it again towards the end of the year, some special surprizes once again. Anyone make it from here? |
