FRIDAY NOVEMBER 25TH 2005 THRESHOLD | JUNGLIST MOVEMENT | X PROMOTIONS PRESENT PROPHECY 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY Pt.1 'LOST IN THE JUNGLE' 1991-1993 In 1994 I was doing a fill in slot at 88.1 CKLN after being inspired by Radio London's Malik X and Dr. No. At the time the station only had a 500 watt signal. We were doing a tuesday overnight where we would play music from 92-94. At this point I was doing the show with the HRDCRU and sometimes Ruffneck and Medicine Muffin would come down. One night one of my listeners called in and said that he spoke to the program director at 89.5 about having Prophecy move over to their station. You see 89.5 has 15 000 watts of power! How can you argue with that?! So in the summer of 1995 I linked up with Dj Prime who was then known as Dj Shadow. He was doing a show over at 105.5 at York University. He had a massive hardcore/jungle collection and that was basically what started our partnership. This was one serious dude when it came to collecting beats! Once we started we did overnight fill in's until we were able to land a permanant time slot. Funny enough the slot we landed was right after one of the scene's first radio shows. This show was called 'Hard Drive' and was run by Dj James St. Bass who was a massive dj and a pioneer in the rave scene. Prime and myself were big fans. We were amped! We shared the station with James for quite a few years until he sadly moved on to other things. Every sunday night we would lug the decks and mixer up the 3 flights of stairs to bring you the Prophecy. It's 10 Years later and we're still here. All thanks to you. Come celebrate 10 years of being on the air waves with us. For this event 3 companies that are dedicated to pushing the oldskool sounds will be uniting as one. Threshold courtesy of Frankie Gunns, Junglist Movement and X Promotions. You may not be familiar with X Promotions as it was my first promtion company and it pre dates Delirium. The first party I threw was in December 1992 and it was called 'Lost in the Jungle'. This event will represent the rebirth of X Promotions which will be dedicated to the oldskool sounds of 1991-1994. This will be the first of two events to celebrate our 10 Year history at the Prophecy. Our next event will cover the 1994 - Nu skool era... Get ready for part one..
