For one night only we are reuniting some of Toronto's original junglists, the originators, founding fathers and taking you back to where it all began.

Back in a Daze-July 17th, 2004-10pm-Toronto, Canada

DJ Shadow (The Prophecy, AKA Prime)
Medicine Muffin (the originator)
Plus a very special guest...

We hope you can join us for what is shaping up to be a very special night.

The lineup. In an effort to keep this event as "authentically oldschool" as possible, the location will not be released until 48 hours before the event. Check back for more details July 15th.

The venue is in the heart of downtown toronto. Admission is FREE.

Thanks to everyone who came out last night. I had a blast and hope everyone else did too. Good to see & meet all of you. was wicked to hear everyone playing the oldschool jamz and to have everyone out. thanks to my partner in crime for this event rick toxic, nasa for helping us throw this together and putting up with me skipping through the bar , rhygin, frankie gunnz, toxic, medicine muffin, mystical influence, and shadow. You guys are the best of the best. Amazing job. RINSE OUT.

thanks to everyone who came and made this memorable. i love that people took the flyers we had reprinted home with them. That was a testament for me.

Thanks let's do it again soon. Shouts go also to Sigma 7 for doing this board in the first place

I am sorry i couldnt show but i said from the beginning it was a slim chance. I feel like an idiot not realising the location wasnt in the email we sent out. Still it sounds like it went well. Props go out to Toxic and Amy for hookin this up.

i was there for about 2 minutes. as much as i respect all the hard work put into this and the efforts for this wicked forum by amy and toxic ... i can't stand nasa. there's no dancefloor and i was hoping that this jam would be about creating some kind of oldschool vibe.. not hanging out and chillin like any other weekend. the beats were great.. but we decided to check the free party across the street at zen lounge (sketch). stayed there for a half hour and left.

i think this would have went off if it were held anywhere else. nuff people i talked to the day of decided not to go when they found out it was at nasa.

there was a good amount of people. through the night we probably had 100 come and go.

whatever your thoughts on nasa it was a great little vibe and ben and jim did a wicked job of letting us oldschool the place up. might not be the ideal locale for a "jungle party" but those two are the original oldschoolers, infinity/sykosis massive. thanks to them.

Big Up to them for donating the space, and being wicked sports about my drunk ass.

Yeah, I guess it went into my junk folder. Although I always give it a quick scan before I trash it and did not come across it. If/when a similar event happens I think it would be better to just post it here.


Finding venues, legal or otherwise is very difficult right now. Having it at Nasa allowed for a free event. There is nothing wrong with that!

I figure that you just get some grimy old spot that has power and drap the whole crew out on bus....we all pitch in the bus fee and get mashed out raver style


it really sucks that the party was sorta ment for the fourm members and most never got the info to show up ( including myself----I got the info just never made it )


any chance we can have another party or what I am sure that there are some folks here that can help out the entire vibe and dj'in etc........whata think ??

Thats not bad, for a small club like NASA, when you're getting it for free. Renting a lot of stuff, and a bigger club, when only 100 people showed up to this might be akin to hubris.

I agree.

If I was to argue the other side I would say:

a. It appears many people did not get the location e-mail
b. If it was somewhere else more people would have come.

My response would then be:

a. True.
b. As mentioned earlier it is nigh impossible to find any type of non-bust warehouse space. The ones that exist are more or less on lock via the House Music crowd. Even then I have not heard of anything other than 99 Sudbury being used lately. Having said that I'm not Johnny House but still. If anyone has any ins contact Toxic. Or even better take the reins and oganize the next one. When it's your $ on the line you'll find it's much more difficult!

across the street from the forum party was a free party at zen lounge. i've heard that place is pretty cheap and its fairly large. there have been jungle events there in the past including the last time mickey finn came. there are decent club spaces out there but i'm not promoting so i can't speak for whats possible $$$ wise. all i ask for is a space with a dancefloor.

also.. the party doesn't have to be free nor does it have to be strictly for the forum. that opens up alot more options. look at what gridiron is doing.

i had a blast, sorry people couldn't make it, didn't like the location, etc etc.
we put a lot of work into it. it's too bad we couldn't have had a better turn out. had I known i would have promoted to some more people.

i have a different life now as well, but it was nice to get together for one night and hear some music, see people and chat about it.
